Suspicious Field Guide
Red eyes. Silver Bridge memory. World's only Mothman Museum. Bring binoculars.
Field rule: TNT Area / McClintic WMA: stay on legal trails, heed hunting-season rules and don't enter unstable structures. Downtown is strollable and statue-friendly.
In November 1966, witnesses near the WWII TNT area north of Point Pleasant described a winged, red-eyed figure. Sightings piled up; the Silver Bridge collapse in December 1967 sealed the town into American weird-history. Today: a museum, a 12-foot statue, floodwall murals and public trails through the old ordnance works. Pay respects at the bridge memorial — that part isn't a bit.
