You want a party theme that gets people talking, works for Halloween, birthdays, Friendsgiving and game night, and doesn’t require a costume budget. Congratulations: you’ve been recruited.

A conspiracy theory party is simple. Guests come dressed as their favorite theory (Bigfoot, a lizard person, a “weather balloon”), the snacks get classified names, and the games are built around inventing nonsense with a straight face. Here’s the whole plan.

1. Send invitations that sound suspicious

Mark it TOP SECRET. Tell guests to “come dressed as your favorite conspiracy theory” and to “tell no one.” Then tell everyone. The kit includes 5x7 printable invitations, front and back.

2. Turn your place into HQ

  • Evidence wall: a corkboard or a blank wall, photos, red string and sticky notes. Guests add “evidence” all night.
  • Caution tape and door signs: “Authorized Personnel Only” on the bathroom does wonders.
  • Lighting: dim the lights, add one desk lamp. Instant interrogation room.

3. Classify the food

Normal snacks, suspicious names. Think “Martian Meatballs,” “Area 51 Dip,” or “Chemtrail Punch.” The kit has 18 food and drink labels ready to print, so you don’t have to come up with puns at midnight.

4. Build a tin foil hat station

A roll of foil, tape, pipe cleaners and a mirror. Give an award for the most protective hat. This is the photo-booth moment everyone posts. Pair it with our free photo booth props.

5. Play games that ruin friendships (gently)

  • Free phone game: invent a theory, rate your friends’ lies. Works on any phone, nothing to download.
  • Printable games: the kit includes 4 games, including icebreakers and bingo.
  • Debate round: each guest has 60 seconds to defend their assigned theory. Loser wears the biggest foil hat.
Free phone game: everyone joins on their phone with a room code (no app, no sign-up), invents a ridiculous theory, and rates their friends’ lies. Play it free →

6. Costume ideas (cheap and fast)

Bigfoot (any brown fuzzy thing), “Not a Fed” (sunglasses and a lanyard), an alien, a moon-landing astronaut, a pigeon “surveillance drone,” or just a conspiracy tee. See our resistance uniforms.

7. Party favors

Send guests home with a top-secret ID badge, a sticker, or, for the true believer, a UFO Sighting Tracker Journal.

UFO Sighting Tracker Journal ($12.99)

Our own retro 1950s-style field log: date, time, description of craft, a big box to sketch what you saw (“stick figures encouraged”), and speculative notes. Document the truth before they memory-hole it.
