Scapegoat Friday

Full disclosure: this is commentary and jokes. Facts come from the linked reports, so click through and judge for yourself. The party kits linked here are our own products.

The midterms are over, the maps are blue and America has entered Phase Two of democracy: the Blame Board. Somebody has to own the sticky confetti. Today the Agency filed impatient voters, a deep-state pushback tour, a YouTube hour over Denver International Airport and a researcher who thinks the ISS almost got clipped. Coffee recommended. Open the folder.

Exhibit A: The voters just needed more patience (and fewer clicks)

According to The Daily Beast, Lara Trump went on Fox & Friends and offered a tidy explanation for the GOP wipeout: Joe Biden's leftover mess, plus Americans who want "instant gratification" in a "clickbait culture." The president's long-term play, she said, simply needs more time. History will supposedly thank him later.

Our analysts note the elegance. When the exit polls are rude, invent a new personality disorder for the electorate. Impatience. Clickbait addiction. A nation that cannot wait for the vibes to kick in. Somewhere a strategist is drafting a slide titled "Voters: Too Online." The Agency rule remains: if your postmortem blames the public for reading the scoreboard too early, you may still need a better scoreboard.

Exhibit B: Deep State, the greatest hits remix

On the other wall of the corkboard: Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth is fighting resignation chatter after the midterm thrashing. BBC News reports the White House denied he (or Secretary of State Marco Rubio) is on the way out, while Hegseth posted a defiant video arguing critics attack him because "we are effective." A Republican lawmaker still wants an impeachment vote. Democrats want oversight. Somebody wants a Tennessee soft landing. Everybody wants a narrative.

What's on the record: midterms went badly for the governing party, Iran remains politically radioactive and Cabinet drama sells. What's on the corkboard: whenever someone says "deep state," check whether they mean a secret cabal or just a really bad week at work. Both exist. Only one needs a classified stamp.

Exhibit C: One hour over Peña Boulevard

Palate cleanser from Colorado. 98.5 KYGO reports a YouTube channel uploaded a roughly one-hour video claiming a UFO over Denver International Airport — the airport that already has a glowing red-eyed horse, bunker lore, gargoyles and a recent United Airlines ghost hunt for flavor. Nearly 80,000 views. No official report of anything unusual. The channel's other titles include giants and swamp creatures. The Agency's working theory: if your evidence package is an hour of sky over Peña Boulevard from a compilation channel, start with "plane," then "drone," then "satellite," then "ambitious lens flare." DIA will still lean into the bit. It always does.

Exhibit D: Near-miss theater in low Earth orbit

Meanwhile in actual space, BroBible (via Daily Mail reporting) says UFO researcher Scott Waring claims a disc-shaped object in NASA docking footage passed close enough to the ISS that it "could have" damaged the station — estimates like 23 feet across and 82 feet away get tossed around. NASA's public note on the October SpaceX Dragon docking: routine cargo, more than 6,300 pounds of supplies. No UFO. No near collision. Independent write-ups stress the identity, distance and trajectory are unverified and could be debris, another craft or camera weirdness.

Agency translation: a bright blob on a docking stream is not the same as an alien almost T-boning the solar panels. Log it. Don't build a religion out of it.

Exhibit E: Odd-news side quests

From today's Weird News feed: a Swiss media study found a striking share of people still rate thoroughly discredited conspiracy claims as "plausible" (Le News), NASA teased a mysterious experimental X-70 "Fractal" aircraft (The Debrief) and an Iowa Democrat who suspended her campaign before the midterms still won. Also: a motorcyclist allegedly overheard Bigfoot "talking," which is either the best trail story of the week or a very confident squirrel. None of these require blaming clickbait culture. Progress.

The pattern on the corkboard

Connect the dots and today's theme is displacement. Displace the midterm loss onto impatient voters. Displace Cabinet heat onto a deep-state storyline. Displace ordinary sky footage onto saucers and near-misses. The skeptic move stays the same: read the linked reporting, keep your sense of humor and leave room for unanswered questions. Instant gratification is not a conspiracy. It is just Friday.
